The First Time Someone Rapped On A Beat I Made
Intro
As many of you know, I first started making music as a producer. I met my longtime friend, Dulanzo, back in middle school where he first introduced me to the idea of music production. He was known in our area for his brilliant EDM instrumentals before transitioning into primarily Hip-Hop production. From there, I started to learn the art myself & spent about 7-8 years making beats until the Pandemic in 2020. It was very sudden when I lost my passion for the craft, and a large reason why (in hindsight) was probably just from external factors such as college, work, etc. Thankfully that passion ended up transitioning into me being a full-time lyricist! However, I often times do go back to some of the old songs I’ve produced for other artists in the past.
This song above was the first official collab I’ve ever been a part of as a producer. I wanna say this was from maybe 2015? One of the artists from a collective named “WeiGang” reached out to me through Instagram & discussed wanting to collaborate. At the time, I was still 14 years old & my beats are decent, but there was still so much more to improve on haha. There were maybe one or two artists in the past that I had gave beats to even if those tracks never materialized. WeiGang gave me the first opportunity to ever be a part of an experience like this. The most challenging part was that they wanted me to create a custom instrumental specific to their needs/idea. Wasn’t sure if they’d end up liking this one or not, but in the end they ended up going crazy!!! Beat is still kinda ass though haha, but at the time it was a major milestone in my music journey today. Shoutout to WeiGang man 4L!!!
